Holding a running event in Stanley Park located in downtown Vancouver ensures a race will be as picturesque as it gets. The directors of Dash for Dogs are doing just that but with the addition of some canine friends and in support of a good cause.

The second annual Dash for Dogs will be held on Saturday in support of BC and Alberta Guide Dogs.

The non-competitive event welcomes runners with or without a dog to participate and asks that those with canines to have their companions on-leash and kept close during the run/walk.

The inaugural event raised $2,866 in 2015. Proceeds support pairing certified guide dogs at no cost to blind/visually impaired people, according to the website.

The event is put on by RunGo, a mobile application that provides users voice navigation for walking and running routes. The race will be begin at Brockton Pavilion in Stanley Park.
