The hotly anticipated National College Athletic Association (NCAA) meet starts this afternoon and runs through Saturday at the fabled Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Though one of the biggest draws will undoubtedly be American freshman Sydney McLaughlin in the women’s 400m hurdles (semifinal Thursday at 6 p.m. PT, 9 p.m. ET; final Saturday 4:57 p.m. PT, 7:57 p.m. ET), Canadian Justyn Knight, a senior at Syracuse University, is favoured to win the men’s 5,000m. Canadian Rory Linkletter, a junior at Brigham Young University, is also in that race, which happens Friday at 7:25 p.m. PT, 10:25 p.m. ET.
Another strong contender is Georgia Ellenwood in the women’s heptathlon. The 200m is Friday at 7:13 p.m. PT, 10:13 p.m. ET. The 800m is Saturday at 5:13 p.m. PT, 8:13 p.m. ET.
