Star Wars half-marathon on social media
The Force aided plenty of runners in Anaheim, Calif., over the weekend when the first Star Wars half-marathon took over Disneyland resort. A perfect opportunity for costume runners to shine, the course was littered with storm troopers and wookiees.
The weekend hosted a 5K, 10K and half-marathon. Many runners took part in the Rebel Challenge, racing the 10K on Saturday and half-marathon on Sunday.
The Anaheim weather was perfect and the half-marathon, held at 5:30 a.m. local time, started before the sun came up.
Nicholas Arciniaga won the men’s race in 1:08:13. Jennifer Berry won the women’s race in 1:22:34.
