Thanks to lockdowns and race cancellations, some of us struggled to find the motivation to run during 2020. The outlook for 2021 is still uncertain, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be one of your best running years yet. As most of us are confined to our homes, now is the perfect time to educate ourselves on how we can become better runners, and The Happy Runner Summit has got us covered.
The two-day, online exclusive, live event will take place on January 28 and 29, with the goal of educating runners on how they can become stronger, faster, mentally tougher and more injury-resistant. The Summit will include 12 real-time sessions with industry experts on a wide variety of topics, and best of all, it’s completely free. Some of the speakers include:
Mike Wardian: The ultrarunner and world champion will host a session called Growth Mindset and Ultra Running in which he’ll share strategies for how to run without injuries and how to change your mindset as you age.
Alex Hutchinson: In his session, Mind, Body and Running Performance, will explain the role of your brain in determining your physical limits and the importance of mindset.
Dr. Patrick Wilson: Wilson’s session, entitled The Athletes’ Gut: The Inside Science of Digestion, Nutrition, and Stomach Distress, will dive into the world of digestive distress as it applies to runners, and provide solutions for your troubled gut.
Tesca Andrew-Wasylik: In her session, Your Pelvic Floor and Running: What’s “Normal” Anyways? the certified pelvic physiotherapist will teach about your pelvic floor and why runners should pay attention to it.
