What your running shoes say about you

Popular running shoes

Imagine if you could tell all about someone’s personality just by their running shoes. Here is our lighthearted take on what that might sound like.

You dream of times before your own and are unafraid of pain. Accustomed to being called crazy, you have developed a thick skin both figuratively and literally on the soles of your feet.

Minimalist

You drink your coffee black and you purge unnecessary possessions multiple times a year. You have a handful of best friends and that’s all you need.

Neutral

A natural-born peacemaker, you quite possibly grew up sandwiched in the middle of older and younger siblings. You’re an above average runner, but by no means bound for the Olympics.

Stability

Your friends describe you as someone that can be relied on, someone that is always there for them when they need it. You are an even pacer and would make a great pace bunny. You keep some form of running log and never train without a plan.

You like to be on the cutting edge of things and if someone says, “Hey, try this!” you do it. You enjoy being taller than other people and likely rest your head on an extremely cushioned mattress at night.

Neon bright

Your shoes reflect your personality and you love to run. You’re more likely to be found out on the roads in the sunshine than in rain and likely had glow-in-the-dark stars pasted on your ceiling as a child. You have never been hit by a car while running (and likely never will).

Match your outfit

You may have your eye on a cute runner you regularly see in your neighborhood. You figure if you’re going to sweat, you might as well accessorize for it properly. You likely know Stella McCartney has a line for Adidas and can recite several celebrities who have been ‘spotted’ running.

Old running shoesFrayed and worn

You’ve run so many miles that your shoes are more appendices than accessories. You have an old pair of sneaks in your basement from the PB you ran at Boston that one time. They sit below a rack of race medals.

Caked in mud

You are not one for pavement, much preferring trails. You have likely been caught trespassing while running on a golf course and ran cross-country in high school. You dream of one day completing an ultra and you’re not entirely sure how you feel about obstacle-course races. They might be your thing; they might be nuts.
