U Sports XC winners Max Turek and Glynis Sim on long-term development, thoughtful coaching and team culture
The two athletes couldn't have had more different seasons, but they credit the same factors with their success
The cross-country championship season is in full swing. This week is bookended by the NCAA Division 1 Championships and Athletics Canada Cross-Country Championships. And going back just over a week, on a blustery day in Halifax, Max Turek and Glynis Sim crossed the line victorious at the U Sports XC Championships. They lead their teams, the McMaster Marauders and the UBC Thunderbirds, to 1st and 2nd, respectively.
