Looking to give back this year? Allow our elite Canadian athletes to help out

It’s the season of giving, and some of Canada’s top athletes have partnered with charitable organizations this year to give back to the communities that have supported them throughout their athletic careers. If you’re able to, consider joining your favourite Canadian athlete in supporting their chosen organization this holiday season.

Damian Warner: Ontario Sport Network

Sponsor-A-Song: the new way to fundraise

The Ontario Sport Network is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of sport and physical activity in Ontario. To learn more about how you can support the OSN check out their website here.

Alysha Newman: Canfund — 150Women

The Can Fund 150Women campaign provides financial assistance to elite and up-and-coming female athletes who dream of competing for Canada at international competitions. Since campaign began in 2017, over 1000 women coast to coast have donated supporting to date 350 female athletes with $6000 each (the amount every athlete from CAN Fund receives). Evan Dunfee: AthletesCAN

Justyn Knight gives back by mentoring students at his high school

The Olympic silver medalist is not partnered with AthletesCAN, but he did just receive the True Sport award from them, and it’s an organization that is worthy of your support. AthletesCAN acts as the collective voice of Canadian national team athletes to ensure an athlete-centered sport system by developing athlete leaders who influence sport policy and, as role models, inspire a strong sport culture.
