Arguably the events of the championships were the midget (grade 9), junior (grade 10) and senior (grade 11 and 12) girls 3,000m races in which Ontario records went down in all three events as well as the Canadian interscholastic record. Christiane Konstantopoul ran 9:29.59 to break the previous Canadian high school record in the senior girls race.
Brogan MacDougall won the junior girls race in a near-identical 9:29.65 and Cameron Ormond broke the previous OFSAA record in the midget girls 3,000m (9:43.59).
