Reid and Marie Coolsaet welcomed a new addition to the family on Friday with the birth of the couple’s first child.

The two-time Olympic in the men’s marathon told Canadian Running that Louis Soehl Coolsaet was born at 7:03 a.m. EDT on Sept. 30 and weighs in at eight pounds and 13 ounces. Louis was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ont.

“Marie and I are thrilled to have this bundle of joy in our lives,” Coolsaet posted to Instagram on Saturday morning.

The two tied the knot in mid-June and also publicly announced that they would be expecting a baby this fall. They live in Hamilton, Coolsaet’s hometown, after relocating from nearby Guelph and Toronto. The couple recently purchased a home in the southern Ontario city.

Reid continues to train with Speed River Track Club, which is based in Guelph, where he attended university. Marie (née Soehl) ran for Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont.

He posted the below photo back in June making the initial announcement. Fourteen weeks later, the two are now parents.

Coolsaet is coming off a top-25 finish at the Rio Olympics, his second trip to the quadrennial Games.

Appropriately, the 37-year-old was able to squeeze in a quick 19K run on Friday afternoon beginning and finishing at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He has averaged upwards of 150K per week since returning to running following the big race at the Rio Olympics.

September is a notable month for Coolsaet as last year he became the second fastest Canadian ever in the men’s marathon with a 2:10:28 clocking at the 2015 Berlin Marathon. The Canadian record, held by Jerome Drayton since 1975, could be in jeopardy this month when Eric Gillis takes a stab at the 2:10:08 mark at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
