The Canadian 5K Championships in photos

The second annual Canadian 5K Championships took place this weekend in downtown Toronto’s Yorkville. After much excitement this summer form the Pan Am Games and World Championships, running fans appreciated being able to watch Canadian elites compete against each other in this relatively new event.

Taking place at the B&O Yorkville Run, many noted that this weekend’s course was an incredibly fast one. It produced fast times with our Canadian 5K champions being Natasha Wodak and Matt Hughes. Huges ran 14:16 and Wodak ran a 15:57.

Both told Canadian Running that this weekend’s race was a fun one, one worthy of slotting in as the season comes to a close. For a full race report, see here.

For our exclusive interview with Wodak about her run, see below and check out the scenes from Sunday’s championships in Toronto. All photos by Chris Lepik.
