National champion cross-country runner gets engaged at finish line

Shortly after winning the American university championships, cross-country runner Courtney Frerichs got engaged in front of teammates.

Moments after winning the national cross-country championships for American universities (NCAA), the University of New Mexico’s Courtney Frerichs was bombarded by teammates for a different reason.

Frerichs’ now-fiance, Griffin Humphreys, surprised the runner shortly after she finished the race by proposing. Frerichs said yes.
