Race the Tube takes on New York

James Heptonstall and Noel Carroll training in Central Park

After spawning a number of imitation videos in cities around the world, the two British runners who raced the London Underground on foot have now taken on the New York City Subway.

James Heptonstall and Noel Carroll, who run the Epic Challenges channel on YouTube, took on both sprint and endurance challenges racing the Tube in London.

In New York City for the launch of a new Adidas shoe, the two raced the distance between Bowling Green and Wall Street stations on the city’s No.4 line. The train takes an average of 85 seconds. The route the two raced covers 410m, including two turnstiles and two sets of stairs and the usual pack of other subway riders.
