Martinson and Cliff top Canadian results from Vancouver Sun Run
Yesterday thousands of people took to the streets of Vancouver to race 10 kilometres from beautiful downtown Vancouver.
The Vancouver Sun Run is the largest single race in Canada. Yesterday thousands of people took to the streets of Vancouver to race 10 kilometres from beautiful downtown Vancouver over to Stanley Beach, finishing near B.C. place. On a sunny west coast day, the top Canadians in the field were both Vancouver natives, Geoff Martinson in 2nd at 29:35 and Rachel Cliff in 3rd at 32:41.
Martinson has had a big winter. He is coming off a World Half Marathon Championship performance of 1:04:34, and finishing a pharmacology degree at UBC this past week. Martinson said to The Province that finishing school has lifted a considerable amount of stress, and training should be easier for him going forward.

Rachel Cliff is also coming off a busy competitive winter season, she competed at the Commonwealth Games in the 10,000m where she finished 9th. Just back from Australia, Cliff had a strong showing this weekend in front of a hometown crowd.
