Six races you can register for right now

Registration for the 2023 Under Armour Toronto 10K is now open, and we've lined up a few other races you can sign up for today

Race schedules are firming up for 2023 and registrations are opening across the country. The newly sponsored Under Armour Toronto 10K (formerly Toronto Waterfront 10K) opened to eager runners on Tuesday, and we’ve lined up a few races Canada-wide that you can slot your name into immediately, from road to trails. We’ve even included a few mid-winter races (even some for the remaining weeks of this year), just in case you’re hoping for a chilly racing boost.

Calgary Roadrunners Silver Springs XC

(Calgary, Dec. 10, 2022)

CRR host a series of inexpensive races throughout the year and are a fantastic community to join if you’re hoping to meet other like-minded runners. The Silver Springs race runs on pathways and trails of Bowmont park in NW Calgary and has options of 1K, 4K and 8K. Runners can purchase an annual CRR membership and enjoy club perks throughout the year for $35.

Santa Shuffle 

(Canada-wide, Dec. 10, 2022)

The Santa Shuffle began in Edmonton, Alta., 32 years ago, and became a national event in 2001, with races held in every province. The Santa Shuffle consists of a 5K Fun Run and 1K Elf Walk for all ages and skill levels, with participants fundraising for local Salvation Army initiatives. On event day, participants are encouraged to wear their funkiest festive running attire.

Vancouver Chilly Chase

(Vancouver, Jan. 23, 2023)

Start your 2023 running season on the right foot (pun intended) with the Vancouver Chilly Chase. with the option of 5K, 10K, 15K and half marathon routes that take walkers and runners along an out-and-back course on the Vancouver seawall. This is a quick, flat course with a stunning winter view of Vancouver.

5 Peaks Trail Running Series

(Four series locations across Canada, events take place May through October)

Founded in 1998, the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series originated in the Vancouver area. The series has since spread across Canada and offers events in five regions: B.C., Central Alberta, Northern Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. The series provides participants with an option of four or five course lengths: 1K Kids, Competitive Kids (~3K), Sport (~ 5K to 8K) Enduro (10K-15K) and GRIT (~18-25K).

Under Armour Toronto 10K

(Toronto, June 17, 2023)

Under Armour has taken over the title sponsorship of the Toronto 10K (part of Canada Running Series) this year, and the newly branded race is highly anticipated. The race is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, and this year’s edition is “all about community.” Runners have the option to register for the Double Dip, including both the in-person 10K race and the 10K virtual option.

Spring Run-off

(Toronto, April 1, 2023)

Registration opens Tuesday for this event, established in 1978. The Spring Run-off is the annual kick-off for the Canada Running Series and celebrates the return of spring in Toronto’s High Park, welcoming runners of all ages and abilities–plus there’s a separately timed “Kill the Hill” portion at the end. Runners can choose from 8K, 5K, and Kids’ Race distances for both virtual and in-person options.
