The Ultra Night Run returns to Canada

Michelob Ultra will be donating two dollars for every participant to build a free outdoor gym in a selected Canadian community

The annual Ultra Night Run is returning to Canada for the fourth time this fall. The event will be taking place virtually from Sept. 24-26, and runners across the country are invited to participate in the 5K or 10K to raise funds to build a free outdoor gym in a Canadian community.

How it works

There are three ways Canadians can participate in the Ultra Night Run:

  • Join the Ultra Night Run Club on Strava. Screenshot any ribbon-shaped route you’ve run and share in the club between August 23 to October 17, 2021.
  • Join and complete the Ultra Night Run 5K or 10K Challenge on Strava, from September 24 to 26, 2021.
  • Run one of Michelob Ultra’s promoted ribbon-shaped Strava segments. Available from August 23 to September 19, 2021 in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal and Vancouver.

For every ribbon-shaped route completed, event sponsor Michelob Ultra will contribute two dollars, up to a maximum of $45,000 to build a gym in a selected community, which will be built by TrekFit, a company that provides accessible workout circuits and equipment to help get more Canadians moving. To choose a gym, 10 communities in 10 provinces with limited access to free fitness facilities will be selected to a shortlist, and the province with the highest per capita participation for the Ultra Night Run Series will have a TrekFit outdoor gym built in the selected community.

Each participant will receive a kit with an official 2021 ULTRA Night Run Race Tee, 2021 Finishers Medal, race bib and wearable neon lights, which they can choose to pick up at their nearest participating Running Room location or have delivered to their home. The cost to register is currently $25, but as race kit inventory decreases, the cost will increase to $40. For more information or to register, head over to ultranightrun.ca.
