The 2022 Chicago Marathon was a thrilling ride for viewers and runners alike on Sunday, with Kenyan runner Benson Kipruto taking the win in the men’s race in 2:04:24, and compatriot Ruth Chepngetich missing the world record by 14 seconds, running a remarkable 2:14:18. American Emily Sisson set a new U.S. record in 2:18:29, only months after Keira D’Amato bested the previous record. Hundreds of Canadians also toed the line at one of the most renowned races in the world, and can boast some speedy finishes in the Windy City. Canadians finished first in several age categories, with Olympian Krista DuChene taking the top women’s master’s 40+ time in 2:43:03.
