Workout Wednesday: pre-race speed
Every Wednesday, we will be posting a fun and challenging workout from Canadian runners. This workout is from May/June cover model Kate Van Buskirk’s coach, Dave Reid.
Reid, who once held the national record over 1,500m, gives this workout to Van Buskirk as a hard effort the week of a shorter goal race:
4 x 600m
Run the first 400m at race pace.
Run the last 200m as if finishing the race.
Three to four minutes between repeats.
