Mornings can feel pretty rushed.  Especially for runners. Getting up early to get outside and run is quite the task some days, but you do it. Once you’re out though, that golden morning sun and fresh air feels so good that you add a little extra to the run. Come home and you feel rushed. It’s a classic problem. Here’s some quick breakfast ideas to save time so you don’t have to skip morning essentials.

1. Fruit and granola parfait

The granola parfait is the perfect choice because you can use whatever fruit you have in the fridge. It’s a healthy option that can be put together in a matter of minutes or taken in a to-go container. Granola and nuts are solids food so you won’t be hungry again by the time you get to the office.

2. Pre-made breakfast bars

Set aside a half hour during your week and make your breakfasts all at once. These bars are packed with energy boosters like chia seeds, dried fruit and peanut butter. Excellent brain food to start a work day.

3. Chickpea pancake

This is not your typical pancake but just as delicious. This is for the person who wants a more savory meal in the mornings. Prep time only takes about 10 minutes too. This recipe uses chickpea flour, an ingredient that keeps runners full for longer.

4. No-bake snacks

No-bake recipes= huge time savers! Flaxseed, quinoa AND dark chocolate all in one recipe? What else does a runner even want?

5. Sandwiches!

This classic doesn’t have to be saved for lunch. Make a breakfast sandwich the night before so when you come in from your run, you don’t waste any time preparing food.  We already selected the best toppings to make it a healthy and delicious option.
